Roles & Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with speech, language and swallowing disorders
  • Deliver evidence-based therapy and document patient progress clearly and professionally
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses and rehab colleagues to coordinate patient-centered care
  • Educate patients and families on communication strategies and carryover activities
  • Participate in discharge planning and provide recommendations for follow-up care

Qualifications

  • Active Florida SLP license required (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • ASHA CCC-SLP preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical SLP experience (as specified in the posting)
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills and ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting
  • Willingness to work as a travel therapist and adapt to new team environments

Education

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders (required)

Knowledge & Skills

  • Skilled in adult dysphagia assessment and treatment
  • Knowledge of evidence-based approaches for cognitive-communication and speech disorders
  • Proficient with clinical documentation in an acute care electronic medical record
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and patient education skills
  • Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time effectively
