Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with speech, language and swallowing disorders
- Deliver evidence-based therapy and document patient progress clearly and professionally
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses and rehab colleagues to coordinate patient-centered care
- Educate patients and families on communication strategies and carryover activities
- Participate in discharge planning and provide recommendations for follow-up care
Qualifications
- Active Florida SLP license required (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred
- Minimum 2 years of clinical SLP experience (as specified in the posting)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills and ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting
- Willingness to work as a travel therapist and adapt to new team environments
Education
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in adult dysphagia assessment and treatment
- Knowledge of evidence-based approaches for cognitive-communication and speech disorders
- Proficient with clinical documentation in an acute care electronic medical record
- Excellent communication, collaboration and patient education skills
- Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time effectively
