Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Hybrid schedule with self-scheduling; typical shift 9:00 AM - 2:00 AM (next day); weekend every other; holiday rotate 1 major

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced Level III Trauma Center
Perform triage and initial assessments to prioritize patient needs
Administer medications and IV therapy, including sedation and critical drips
Manage trauma patients, including chest tube insertion and central line placement
Monitor and interpret EKGs, manage arrhythmias and advanced dysrhythmias
Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and the healthcare team to deliver coordinated care
Float between Bryan and College Station campuses as needed to support staffing needs

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience in a similar volume and trauma level setting
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam with 83% within first three attempts
Comfortable with central line placement, MTP, chest tubes, trauma, STEMI, and stroke management
Ability to float and adapt to different units and campuses

Knowledge & Skills

Patient assessment and triage
IV therapy and medication administration
EKG interpretation and rhythm recognition
Trauma management (MTP, chest tubes, central lines)
Knowledge of common drips: diltiazem, cardene, nitro, propofol, fentanyl, levophed
Proficiency with PulseCheck and Picis EMR systems
Strong communication and teamwork skills
