Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to oncology, PCU, and med-surg patients
• Administer chemotherapy and monitor for adverse reactions
• Titrate drips like insulin and cardizem as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including PT/OT, case managers, and social workers
• Float to med-surg and PCU units as needed, maintaining same level of care
• Conduct hourly rounding to ensure patient safety and satisfaction
• Support patients and families from diagnosis through remission or end-of-life care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent oncology and PCU experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification required
• Willing to take a pass/fail exam during orientation (90% to pass)
• Comfortable with EPIC electronic medical records
• Driver's license required for submittal (to verify 50-mile radius rule)
• No artificial nails in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

• Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• PCU and med-surg patient care
• IV therapy and heparin administration
• Ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000)
• Patient assessment and critical thinking
• Teamwork and positive attitude
• Adaptability to float between units
