Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert post-anesthesia care to a diverse patient population
• Monitor patients recovering from ortho, trauma, cardiac, urology, pulmonary, and GI procedures
• Collaborate with a dynamic team in a 22-bed unit handling both Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery
• Take charge during critical situations with advanced life support skills
• Float to other units as needed and assist with lunch relief when charge nurse is off
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and manage ICU-level patients recovering in PACU
• Ensure seamless transitions of care and maintain high patient satisfaction

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Colorado (or compact state) - we'll help if you need to get one
• Minimum 1 year of ED or ICU experience - we need your critical thinking skills
• At least 2 years of PACU experience preferred
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR is a must
• Ability to commit to a 13-week assignment starting July 13

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in post-anesthesia care and recovery
• Strong assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Comfortable with ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and other respiratory equipment
• Team player who can jump in and help during lunch relief
• Flexible and adaptable to variable start times
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
