Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Days 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or Nights 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to a diverse med/surg patient population
Manage patients with conditions such as CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, hip fractures, and post-surgical recovery
Monitor telemetry strips and collaborate with CCU staff for patient safety
Titrate intravenous drips such as heparin and bumex as needed
Float as a 'helping hand' to other departments when census is low
Work collaboratively with CNAs and charge nurses to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications

Valid RN license in Oregon or eligibility for the 90-day emergency license
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
Experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
Ability to titrate common drips and monitor telemetry
Comfortable caring for pediatric patients occasionally
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in general medical-surgical nursing
Knowledge of common diagnoses: CHF, diabetes, COPD, pneumonia, post-op care
Skilled in telemetry monitoring and interpretation
Familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
