Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to med/surg pediatric patients
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Perform thorough assessments and monitor patients’ clinical status
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to develop and follow care plans
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Maintain precise documentation in the electronic health record
Participate in orientation and precept new staff to promote a strong, cohesive unit

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts (or compact/eligible) required
Experience in medical-surgical nursing with pediatric patient exposure preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; PALS or pediatric certification a plus
Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Medical-surgical nursing principles and pediatric care
Medication administration and IV therapy competence
Patient assessment, documentation, and care planning
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment
Interdisciplinary teamwork and family-centered communication
