Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts (days or nights), every other weekend, holiday rotation as needed

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $71 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and antepartum patients in a 15-bed LDRP unit
Monitor and titrate IV drips including Pitocin, Magnesium, and Procardia
Assess and manage high-risk pregnancies such as those with hypertension or diabetes
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe deliveries and positive patient outcomes
Educate patients on breastfeeding and newborn care in a baby-friendly environment
Adhere to AWHONN guidelines for safe nurse-to-patient ratios

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska (or compact state)
Minimum 3 years of recent labor and delivery experience
Current BLS and NRP certifications
Valid driver's license for verification of distance from facility
Ability to pass an open-book exam during orientation with a 90% score

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in maternal-fetal monitoring and interpretation of strips
Skilled in administration of Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Procardia
Strong assessment and critical thinking in a fast-paced unit
Excellent communication and patient education abilities
Knowledge of obstetrics, postpartum, and GYN surgical care
