Roles & Responsibilities

• Independently attend and manage low-risk deliveries, and circulate during cesarean sections
• Provide comprehensive care to laboring, postpartum, and mother-baby couplets
• Assist with newborn transition and immediate postpartum assessments
• Titrate and manage critical drips including magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin
• Collaborate with an in-house OB hospitalist, neonatologist, and anesthesia team
• Float between labor & delivery, postpartum, and mother-baby units as needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license and at least 2 years of LDRP experience (no first-time travelers)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
• Intermediate or advanced fetal heart monitoring preferred
• Must be comfortable attending deliveries independently and circulating in c-sections
• Ability to adapt to unit policies and workflows, and welcome feedback

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong LDRP and mother-baby nursing skills
• Proficiency in electronic fetal monitoring (Centricity-Perinatal)
• Experience with high-risk pregnancies including preeclampsia, diabetes, and social issues
• Ability to titrate and manage oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, and insulin drips
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced birthing center
