Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, titrate drips, and manage ventilators
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Assess and respond to changes in patient condition, including trauma, cardiac events, and respiratory distress
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to safety protocols

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to pass an open-book exam during orientation (90% required)
• Driver's license required to verify residency (must be 50+ miles from facility)
• Comfortable with floating to PCU and MedSurg as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in titrating cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Proficient in interpreting telemetry strips and using GE monitors
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Adaptable to fast-paced environments with varying patient acuity
