Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shift, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, every third weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in a 16-bed Medical ICU
Monitor and manage vasopressors, sedation drips, and other titratable medications
Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists to stabilize complex cases like sepsis, stroke, and respiratory failure
Perform and interpret telemetry, assist with ventilator management and BiPAP
Float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) as needed to support team coverage

Qualifications

Current RN license in Iowa or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
Previous travel experience preferred
Ability to pass an open-book skills exam with 90% during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in ICU nursing including drip titration and ventilator management
Experience with telemetry interpretation and monitoring
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for medical ICU patients
Comfortable working with Draeger monitors and centralized telemetry
