Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population in a Level I Trauma Center
• Triage patients efficiently and prioritize care based on acuity
• Manage complex trauma cases, including rapid assessment, intervention, and stabilization
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and common drips seen in a high-acuity emergency department
• Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in patient status
• Float to observation unit and freestanding ER as needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• Minimum of 2 years recent emergency room experience at a Level I or Level II trauma center required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications (NRP preferred)
• Driver's license required for verification of distance from facility
• Ability to pass an open-book exam during orientation with a 90% or higher
• Willingness to comply with artificial nail policy

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in emergency nursing, trauma care, and rapid decision-making
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips
• Familiarity with common emergency department drips and protocols
