Candidate Pay Rate: $35 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic appliance care
- Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment notes
- Manage inventory of orthodontic supplies and place orders as needed
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification in Maryland (required)
- Radiology certification (Maryland) preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in orthodontics is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a CODA-accredited dental assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and terminology
- Proficiency in dental software and digital charting
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Attention to detail and infection control standards
