Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert anesthesia assistance including setting up, monitoring vitals, and assisting with IV sedation
• Master infection control protocols to ensure sterile field setups and proper surgical instrument handling
• Assist chairside during complex oral surgeries such as extractions, implants, and bone grafting
• Manage patient care from reviewing medical histories to calming anxious patients and delivering post-op instructions
• Collaborate with the oral surgeon to ensure smooth procedures and optimal outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant certification or licensure as required by Virginia
• Oral surgery experience is a must - we need someone who hits the ground running
• BLS/CPR certification required
• Comfortable with IV sedation monitoring and anesthesia assistance

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in anesthesia assistance and patient monitoring
• Strong infection control practices for surgical settings
• Excellent chairside manner and patient communication skills
• Ability to stay calm and efficient in fast-paced surgical environment
