Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional oral hygiene care to patients, ensuring comfort and safety
• Perform thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis procedures
• Educate patients on proper oral health practices and preventive care
• Take and develop dental x-rays with precision and care
• Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed, following state regulations
• Collaborate with dentists to develop individualized treatment plans
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Current CPR certification
• Graduate from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Experience in clinical dental hygiene preferred
• Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with dental software and charting systems

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in dental hygiene procedures and techniques
• Strong understanding of oral health and disease prevention
• Ability to interpret dental x-rays and diagnostic images
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively within a dental team
