Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations to promote oral health
- Take and interpret dental X-rays to assist in diagnosis
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
- Document patient care and treatment plans accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to ensure optimal patient experience
- Maintain a clean and sterile clinical environment following infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Active Dental Hygienist license in Maryland
- Graduate from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong communication and patient education skills
Education
- Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene
- Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in dental hygiene instrumentation and scaling techniques
- Knowledge of dental radiography and safety procedures
- Familiarity with dental practice management software
- Excellent interpersonal skills for patient interaction
