Location: Bismarck, ND

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM with call requirements (3-4 weeknights and every other to every third weekend) and rotating holidays

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain sterile field for CVOR surgeries including open hearts, CABG, valves, and thoracic cases
First scrub for complex cardiovascular and thoracic procedures
Cross-train to general OR specialties when CV volumes are low
Assist in room setup and turnover between cases
Participate in on-call responsibilities including weeknights and weekends
Float to floor as a 1:1 sitter when needed to supplement hours

Qualifications

Two years of CVOR experience required
Must be able to first scrub for open heart cases
Willing to cross-train to general OR and take call
BLS certification required
CST or NCCT certification required
ND UAP certification required

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of accredited surgical technology program

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in cardiovascular surgical technology
Knowledge of open heart procedures: CABG, valves, aneurysms
Familiarity with thoracotomies, VATS, convergent procedures, and robotic cases
Experience with ECMO, Impella 5.5, and Stryker towers
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing caseloads
Strong teamwork and communication skills
