Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor telemetry strips and interpret cardiac rhythms for early intervention
• Float to other Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed to support the team
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement patient care plans
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and heparin drips with precision
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and discharge plans
• Maintain a sterile field during central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertions
• Act as a charge nurse when assigned, overseeing patient flow and staff support

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona or compact state (NLC)
• Minimum of 1-2 years recent Med/Surg experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience is a must
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam before starting assignment
• Telemetry experience preferred; charge nurse experience is a plus
• No first-time travelers; must have completed prior travel assignments
• Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit test
• Own vehicle required for commute to and from the facility

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in med/surg nursing with post-op, sepsis, COPD, pneumonia, and diabetes management
• Proficient in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Skill in central line dressing changes, Foley catheter insertion, and sterile technique
• Competency in heparin titration and IV therapy
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient education skills
• Adaptability to float across different units and handle varying patient loads
