End Date: 10-12-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM or 7:00 PM-7:30 AM), every other weekend, holidays as needed

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgery, bariatrics, and medical overflow.
Manage post-operative care including early ambulation, drain management (JP drains, hemovacs), and colostomy care.
Administer medications and monitor patients on heparin drips, PCA pumps, and TPN.
Collaborate with charge nurse and patient care techs to ensure safe nurse-to-patient ratios (1:4-5 days, 1:5-6 nights).
Perform bedside shift report and participate in interdisciplinary communication.
Float to medical and telemetry units as needed, assisting with monitor strip interpretation.

Qualifications

Active RN license in North Dakota or compact state
BLS certification required
Previous surgical experience preferred (post-op, early ambulation)
First-time travelers welcome
Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays as needed

Knowledge & Skills

Post-operative care and early mobilization
Drain management (JP, hemovacs)
Colostomy care
Heparin drip and PCA pump management
Telemetry monitoring skills
Strong communication and teamwork
