Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM), every other weekend included

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Monitor and manage patients with cardiovascular conditions, including intermediate care and post-surgical recovery
Administer and titrate critical cardiac drips such as amiodarone, nitroglycerin, and epinephrine
Collaborate with cardiologists, intensivists, and the interdisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care
Interpret telemetry strips and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
Educate patients and families on cardiac health, medications, and recovery plans
Float to same-level or lower-acuity units as needed to support the team

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska (or compact state) required
Minimum 1 year of experience in CVU, ICU, or cardiac step-down unit
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications mandatory
Must pass a skills-based open-book exam during orientation (90% or higher)
Valid driver's license required to verify 50-mile radius rule
Commitment to patient safety and infection control policies (no artificial nails)

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in titration of cardiac drips and blood pressure management
Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and rhythm recognition
Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannula oxygen delivery
Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
