Location: Carmichael, California

Start Date: 07-07-2026

End Date: 10-06-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; rotating weekends (every other, at least one full weekend per month)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $82 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive initial assessments and ongoing evaluations for assigned patients
Conduct utilization review using Interqual criteria to ensure appropriate level of care
Develop and implement discharge plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
Coordinate care across all hospital departments, including communication with payers and community resources
Manage caseload of 15-20 patients per day, prioritizing urgent needs and reprioritizing as the day unfolds
Document all activities in Cerner EMR system accurately and timely

Qualifications

Current California RN license
BLS certification required
Minimum of 1 year recent experience in Case Management or Utilization Review in a hospital setting
Prior experience with Dignity Health or CommonSpirit facilities strongly preferred
Ability to provide supervisor references (charge nurse accepted) within required timeframes

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in Interqual criteria and utilization management
Experience with Cerner EMR documentation
Strong collaboration, teamwork, and communication skills
Ability to reprioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
Experience working with diverse patient populations including uninsured and homeless individuals
Knowledge of all payer types and discharge planning processes
