Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient
Location: Bakersfield, California
Start Date: 06-13-2026
End Date: 09-12-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM); one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments for acute inpatients including post-surgical ortho, CVA, and deconditioned patients
- Cover Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER areas as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Participate in department orientation and continuous learning
Qualifications
- Valid California Physical Therapist license required
- BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Acute inpatient physical therapy experience required
- Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of acute care physical therapy practices
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload including ortho, neuro, and medical patients
- Proficient in electronic medical records
- Team collaboration and patient education skills
