Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 4x12 (typically 4 days per week; facility-specific days) — Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Day), Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night). Traveler's choice of 4x12 or 3x12 (3 days per week) with shifts assigned as either Days or Nights (no routine rotation).
Hours per Week: 60
Candidate Pay Rate: $34 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting) to preserve dignity and comfort
- Perform accurate point-of-care glucose testing and document results in ECS charting
- Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure (including orthostatic), pulse (radial), respirations, and temperature (oral, rectal, axillary, tympanic)
- Execute safe patient transfers using appropriate equipment (Skylifts, Hoyers) and techniques to prevent injury
- Apply infection control practices including proper donning and removal of PPE and adherence to isolation precautions
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the care team
- Assist with pressure injury prevention, skin care, incontinence care, and other resident-centered clinical needs
- Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated, high-quality long term care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (AK CNA application must already be submitted if license is pending)
- If AK license pending: valid CNA license in another state AND verification of completion of a formal CNA training program (certificate/transcript)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant CNA or long term care experience (previous travel experience required)
- Comfort working with geriatric populations including Alzheimer’s/dementia and behavioral presentations
- Willingness to float within scope to meet facility needs and to work required holiday coverage per contract
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility (locals not accepted)
- If using facility-provided vehicle: valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required prior to operating
Education
- Completion of a formal CNA training program (certificate or transcript required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and safe patient handling
- Proficient with glucometer use, pulse oximetry and oxygen tank handling
- Comfortable with ECS charting and accurate documentation
- Knowledge of vital sign norms and abnormal parameters across adults and geriatrics
- Infection control best practices and proper PPE procedures
- Experience performing Bed baths, linen changes, ambulation assistance and pressure injury prevention
- Familiarity with working in Long Term Care / Skilled Nursing / LTAC settings
