Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, various start times including 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, and 8-hour shifts; every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate nursing care to a diverse patient population including oncology, PCU, and med/surg patients
Administer chemotherapy and manage complex drips such as heparin, cardizem, and insulin
Monitor hemodynamic status including CVP, arterial lines, and Swan-Ganz catheters
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including PT, OT, case managers, and social workers
Float to med/surg and PCU units as needed, ensuring continuity of care
Participate in hourly rounding and patient experience initiatives
Uphold the unit's philosophy: 'Be the type of nurse you want to work with'

Qualifications

Current ACLS, BLS, and ONS/ONCC certifications
Minimum 1 year of PCU, med/surg, and oncology experience
Valid driver's license (required at submittal)
Willing to comply with facility policies including artificial nail policy
Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
Open to first-time travelers

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in chemotherapy administration
Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, Aline, Swan, EV-1000)
Skill in handling titratable drips like insulin and cardizem
Competency with Epic EMR and Alaris IV pumps
Ability to work in a fast-paced mixed unit with ratios of 1:4 PCU and 1:5 med/surg
