Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM and 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend, holiday rotation

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients on a 40-bed PCU
Monitor telemetry strips and interpret rhythms to detect changes in patient status
Titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Float to MedSurg or ICU as needed to support the unit
Act as a resource for patients and families, focusing on communication and patient experience

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA)
NIHSS certification required
Minimum 1 year of PCU or step-down experience preferred
Competency in arterial line management and telemetry interpretation
Willingness to complete an open-book exam during orientation (90% pass rate)

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in drip titration and cardiac medication management
Strong telemetry and rhythm interpretation skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced environment
Ability to use overhead lifts, vein finders, and bladder scanners
