Education

• Unit: NICU - Level 4
• # beds: 71 - 17 of those stepdown
• Certs: BLS, NRP. Cardiac STABLE is a plus. Minimum 3 years of experience (required).
• Ratios: 1:2 ICU, 1:3 Level 2
• EMR: Cerner
• Charge Nurse: Yes, no patient assignment. Also a high risk RN resource.
• Nurse Aides: 1 PCT per shift.
• Weekend Requirement: 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks, weekends are Saturday and Sunday
• Holidays: based on unit coverage
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Tele: Phillips
• Vents: RT manages
• Hospitalis or Intensivist in house: Neonatologist and midlevels 24/7
• RT 24/7: Yes
• Pharmacy 24/7
• NICU Pharmacy, during the day
• Shifts
• 7-7 shifts
• Floating: Mother baby, Labor care - babies only.
• Floor specific orientation: 2-3 days on the floor
• Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Premature, cardiac defects, genetic disorders, surgical, ecmo and cooling.
• Additional Notes: 4 private rooms.
