Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to neuro-telemetry patients with conditions such as CVA, TBI, and spinal surgery
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, titrating drips like Amio, Cardizem, and Insulin per protocol
• Perform Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes with strict sterile technique
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes on a fast-paced, high-turnover unit
• Participate in bedside reporting and charge nurse duties as assigned
• Adhere to facility policies including pass/fail SIMs lab and dysrhythmia exam requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in neuro telemetry or med-surg telemetry
• Must have Level 1 trauma center experience
• Active Arizona RN license or compact license; must obtain AZ license prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (two attempts allowed)
• Competence in sterile field maintenance for central line dressing changes and Foley insertion
• Travelers must have their own reliable vehicle
• Natural hair color and no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit testing

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in EKG interpretation and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with Cerner EMR and WOWs
• Skilled in titrating IV drips (Amio, Cardizem, Insulin) and heparin
• Knowledge of neuro conditions: CVA, TBI, encephalopathy, brain tumors
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for fast-paced environment
• Ability to float to other med-surg/tele floors and possibly other campuses
