Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to laboring and postpartum patients in our LDRP unit
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs vigilantly
• Assist with deliveries, newborn assessments, and immediate postpartum care
• Administer and titrate medications including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and other drips as needed
• Collaborate with charge nurses and multidisciplinary team to ensure safe patient ratios (1:3, 1:1 for laboring)
• Maintain high patient experience standards and support breastfeeding-friendly practices

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state required
• BLS and NRP certifications required at time of start
• Minimum 3 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience
• Valid driver's license needed at submittal to confirm distance from facility
• Ability to pass an open-book skills exam with 90% during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios
• Comfort with titrating IV drips like Pitocin and magnesium
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong ability to adapt to fast-paced, high-acuity unit with 400 births annually
