Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate care for patients with cardiac and vascular conditions, including post-surgical CVICU step-down
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms, titrating critical drips like amiodarone, nitro, and epinephrine
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including hospitalists, intensivists, and cardiologists to deliver exceptional patient outcomes
• Float to units of same or lower acuity as needed to support the team
• Educate patients and families on disease management and recovery plans
• Conduct thorough assessments and document care accurately

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in CVU, telemetry, or intermediate care
• Driver's license required at submission to verify distance from facility
• Comfortable with open-book skills exams during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiac assessment and arrhythmia interpretation skills
• Proficiency in titrating vasoactive and antiarrhythmic drips
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and remote tele-tech collaboration
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient loads (1:4 ratio, 1:3 for post-surgical)
