PCU RN (Registered Nurse)

Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Start Date: 08-03-2026

End Date: 11-02-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend, holiday rotation every third

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced PCU setting
Monitor cardiac and neurological status, including continuous EEG monitoring
Titrate intravenous drips such as Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed
Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to facility policies, including artificial nail prohibition

Qualifications

Current RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum of 1-2 years of PCU experience preferred
Ability to pass an open-book skills exam with 90% or higher during orientation
Driver's license required for verification of 50-mile radius rule

Knowledge & Skills

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and drip titration
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with high acuity patients
