Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive dental hygiene care to patients, including prophylaxis and oral health education
• Perform periodontal assessments and document findings accurately
• Collaborate with dentists and the care team to develop individualized treatment plans
• Maintain infection control standards and ensure a clean clinical environment
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care

Qualifications

• Current Virginia Dental Hygienist license in good standing
• Completion of an accredited Dental Hygiene program
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience in a dental office setting preferred

• Oral anatomy and pathology
• Preventive dental procedures and instrumentation
• Patient assessment and documentation
• Infection control protocols
• Electronic dental record (EDR) systems
