Roles & Responsibilities

Provide thorough dental cleanings and examinations to promote oral health
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
Assist the dentist during procedures and ensure patient comfort
Take and develop dental x-rays as needed
Maintain detailed patient records and treatment plans
Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment

Qualifications

Active Dental Hygienist license in the state of Virginia
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
Current CPR certification
Excellent communication and patient education skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced dental practice

Education

Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in dental hygiene procedures including scaling, root planing, and fluoride treatments
Familiarity with dental software for patient charting and scheduling
Strong attention to detail and infection control protocols
Ability to assess patient oral health and identify potential issues
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
