Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced PCU setting
• Monitor cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and diabetes patients with continuous EEG monitoring
• Titrate and manage drips including Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications
• Collaborate with a dedicated charge nurse and patient care techs to ensure excellent outcomes
• Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed to support the team
• Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to handle complex patient needs

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required upon submission
• At least 1 year of PCU or comparable experience preferred
• Must pass an open-book examination during orientation (90% required)
• Driver's license required at submittal to verify 50-mile radius compliance
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills essential

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in titrating cardiac and seizure medications
• Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making abilities
• Comfortable with continuous EEG monitoring and telemetry
• Ability to work in a high-acuity environment with a 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Team player who thrives in a collaborative setting
