Education

• Common diagnoses/Types of patients Cardiac, Respiratory, ETOH w/d, Renal failure
• Experience or 'Must have' skills Acute care, cardiac and respiratory
• Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes minimal
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips Cardizem, heparin, amiodarone
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Yes both
• Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios Yes 1:7 days, 1:11 nights
• RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, etc) Cpap, Bipap, high flow nasal cannula
• Is there tele on this unit? Monitor techs? RNs read strips? Yes monitor techs and RNs
• Shifts & Scheduling 12 hours 1845-0715
• Weekend Requirement EOW
• Holiday Requirement 1 major and 1 minor
• Is there a call or standby requirement? Placed on call for low census only with expected maximum response time of 45 minutes if called in
• Floating Requirement Floats first to ICU or Med/Surg
• Scrub Color/Dress code Scrub Top: Any color/Design except purple
