Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to cardiac patients, monitoring their condition and responding quickly to changes
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered, ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on cardiac health, medications, and post-discharge care
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely
• Float between Mercy Main and West Des Moines to support both teams as needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or a compact state (license/certificate verification required)
• Current BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• TNCC certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Willingness to float between Mercy Main and West Des Moines

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiac assessment and telemetry monitoring skills
• Critical thinking and quick decision-making in fast-paced environments
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Flexibility and adaptability for floating between facilities
• Proficient in electronic health records and documentation
