Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (days or nights), 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Monitor and manage patients in a fast-paced PCU unit, including cardiac, nephrology, and stroke patients
Titrate drips such as Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications as needed
Collaborate with charge nurse and interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as required
Maintain high standards of patient care and safety in a unit with 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratios
Participate in a supportive environment that values positive attitude, communication, and critical thinking

Qualifications

Current RN license in Nebraska or compact state required
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Valid driver's license required for verification of 50-mile radius rule
Ability to pass an open book exam on skills with 90% or higher during orientation
Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills
Positive attitude and willingness to help others in a fast-paced setting

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of PCU nursing, including cardiac monitoring, continuous EEG, and titration of drips
Skills in patient assessment, teamwork, and adaptability to floating assignments
Familiarity with adult and geriatric patient populations and common diagnoses
