Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units
Float across multiple facilities within the Colorado Springs zone, adapting quickly to different unit environments
Titrate heparin drips and monitor cardiac rhythms effectively
Collaborate with charge nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Manage patient assignments with a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio, prioritizing based on acuity
Participate in holiday and weekend rotations as needed to support unit coverage

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
Current, unrestricted RN license in Colorado or a compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Experience with heparin titration
Prior neuro experience is a plus
Ability to float to different units and facilities within a 60-mile zone

Knowledge & Skills

Strong cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation skills
Proficient in IV therapy, medication administration, and patient assessment
Excellent critical thinking and adaptability in fast-paced environments
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Comfortable floating to various units including PCU/Stepdown and ICU holds
