Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, recognizing subtle changes and responding quickly
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and advanced life support as needed
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team to develop and adjust care plans
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families
• Document patient progress accurately and maintain compliance with safety standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or active compact license accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Willingness to complete hospital-specific competency testing and skills checklist
• Pass a background check, drug screen, and health screening as required

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of critical care nursing practices and ICU protocols
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in using cardiac monitors, ventilators, and other ICU equipment
• Ability to make quick, sound decisions in high-pressure situations
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
