Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Various 12-hour shifts (0700-1900, 0900-2100, 1100-2300, 1500-0300, 1900-0700); schedule set by leadership; weekend and holiday requirements vary based on department needs

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide critical care to patients in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center emergency room
Triage and assess patients with diverse medical conditions including trauma, sepsis, chest pain, stroke, and more
Administer medications, treatments, and common drips as seen in a Level I trauma ER
Collaborate with physicians, mid-levels, and multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient outcomes
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips independently
Float to OBS unit and freestanding Creighton ER at least once a week
Participate in an open-book pass/fail exam during orientation to demonstrate competency

Qualifications

Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required; NRP preferred
At least 2 years of recent Level I or Level II trauma experience
Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
Ability to pass an open-book exam with a 90% score during orientation
Must adhere to artificial nail policy (no artificial nails in patient care areas)

Knowledge & Skills

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Proficiency in interpreting telemetry strips
Ability to thrive in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility to float between units as needed
