Education

• Common diagnoses/Types of patients HTN, pre-E, preterm labero, TOLAC
• Experience or 'Must have' skills experience in labor and postpartum
• Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes -oxytocin
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips Oxytocin
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes
• Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? Yes
• OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7? No
• Anesthesia in house 24/7? No
• RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, etc) Yes
• Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? RNs read their own strips, GE
• EFM System GE
• Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) Yes we allow self scheduling within reason. Needs of unit come first. Positioned personell get first pick
• Weekend Requirements Yes split between staff ends up being 4-5 in a 6 week period

• Is there a call or standby requirement? Yes- On call requirements are 1 on call shift of their choice in a 6 week schedule block
• Floating Requirements? Yes - Floating can be as helping hands throughout the hospital- just helping hands not an assignment. We are an LDRP so the traveler would be expected to do all phases of labor.
