Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Block scheduling with every other weekend, 1 summer and 1 winter holiday required, standby call required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Attend deliveries as the baby nurse providing expert newborn care
Start and maintain IVs while monitoring vital signs closely
Transfer patients to higher levels of care when needed
Provide phototherapy and support for gainer/growers and infants with respiratory distress
Manage newborns experiencing hypoglycemia, withdrawal, and sepsis
Flex between SCN and postpartum assignments based on unit needs
Care for up to three mother-baby couplets when covering postpartum
Titrate drips including D5W and TPN with precision and care

Qualifications

Active RN license in Washington
NRP and BLS certifications required
Experience attending deliveries as the baby nurse
Skilled in IV start and maintenance
Comfortable with Bubble CPAP, HiFlow, and assisting with umbilical line placement
Ability to flex between SCN and postpartum assignments

Knowledge & Skills

Level 2 NICU experience preferred
Postpartum care experience preferred
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to work collaboratively with neonatologists and respiratory therapists
Comfortable with CPAP, BiPAP, HiFlow, and vents prior to transfer
